Minor flooding possible Tuesday

AUSTIN, Texas — We’re tracking one more day of scattered showers and storms before we dry up for the rest of the workweek.

Tuesday morning starts on a seasonable yet humid note with temperatures beginning in the upper 60s. While an isolated shower is possible in the morning, the main rain chances arrive for the afternoon and evening as a weak cold front slowly moves through the area. The overall rain chance is 30 to 40 percent, but areas which do see rain could experience some minor flooding due to already saturated ground. 

As of Tuesday morning, we are monitoring multiple low water crossing closures along Spicewood Springs Road due to previous rainfall. Since minor flooding will be possible across the area on Tuesday, it’s important to remember to not drive through any water. Remember: turn around, don’t drown!

Drier and warmer conditions build into the area from Wednesday through Friday as sunshine returns and afternoon highs climb into the upper 80s to lower 90s. 

Our next rain chances arrive Friday evening as a weak cold front drifts through Central Texas. Isolated rain chances will linger through the weekend as afternoon highs drop into the lower to mid-80s.
